| Transponder security is a unique new way to protect your vehicle. The "TIRIS" technology invented by Texas Instruments is FRID code recognition. Once the transponder is within 4 to 6 inches of the system’s antenna, it responds with one of 4.5 billion digital codes. The onboard processor confirms a code and allows the vehicle to start. When the antenna is placed around the ignition, the user simply turns the vehicle’s key and the code reads automatically. We call this unique operation "Zero Contact Security".
